Review: Samourai Bitcoin Wallet

(Last Updated On: April 27, 2019)

Samourai Bitcoin wallet is one of the online wallet venture sites i.e., Coinbase, LocalBitcoins, etc. Today, we came across this very awesome BTC wallet that a few people can resist. In this article, we are going to tech talk about a new mobile based wallet known as Samourai wallet. It is the beast because of its stealth feature.

We have described in details about stealth feature of Samourai wallet later in this article. Stealth feature allows your bitcoins to be hidden and away from thieves.

Samourai Bitcoin Wallet

Samourai Bitcoin wallet is currently running on Android with alpha version coded on JAVA. But, iOS version is already in progress and soon to be released.

As we said the main focus of this wallet is based on privacy and anonymity it supports IP address optimizer which can be easily done through VPN and mobile based TOR browsers.

Samourai Bitcoin wallet is integrated with Segwit feature used for optimizing transaction fees. It is known that it may integrate The Lightning Network in future.

The samourai does not support multi-sign but it does multiple accounts feature which may be helpful to create personal and business transaction accounts calculations can also be made through it.

Samourai wallet is user-friendly and quite easy, clean for new users to have practical hands on.

Stealth Feature (Samourai Wallet)

When it is in stealth mode the shortcut automatically disappears from your mobile screen which is way too creative. To activate it, you have to enter the correct pin so it can be retrieved. But smart people who want to spook maybe able to sneak inside and activate it.

Stealth feature can also be called privacy feature where it will also provide you VPN and TOR options that will make your bitcoins and transaction history unaccountable from Block Chain.

Samourai wallet has got some more optional features like Ricochet Send where your origin of payment is unknown it is send to 3 to 4 address before sending to your original address this feature is costly 2.50$ per transaction use if only you have to much.

Well, it has got another option that uses payment code where you can receive Bitcoins without even telling someone your address but the exception it other person should also have that option valid in his or her wallet.

Unfortunately, it is to much gangster that it cannot be found on Google play store well because they are fortune 500 tech guys and really do surveillance nowadays. Its upcoming version 1.0 can be founded on F-Droid and open source repository for Android.

Samourai Wallet Security

Samourai is really trustworthy in terms of security it has backup phrases that you need to backup for any inconvenience in future.

Furthermore it uses Pin every time you send a transaction. The pin is usually 5 to 8 digits and numbers are shuffled each time from sneakers or malware just like Trezor a Hardware wallet.

It does not hardware wallet feature yet unfortunately but it can be worked on if the original version may go successful.

The most amazing security type feature of Samurai is Remote Commands. This feature can be limited to a specific phone number. When a remote command which is actually an SMS is send to your phone, it will instruct Samourai to either destruct or reply with your wallet’s backup phrase.

This feature is really useful and handy if someone steals your phone these commands can be used to retrieve your currency and deny the access to the thief it can also sms a particular number if it is installed on a phone which isn’t currently inserted with a Sim card.

But if your remote command is send UN-encrypted then there is something fishy going on and you might be getting intercepting so try not to do these type of experiments only if necessary.

Samourai is a pretty good wallet with aspects of security, privacy, stealth and loads of functions combine together ideal for new comers and financially private type of people it can become more greater if it has a hardware wallet integration and some normal peer to peer send receive options also.
